T he Barranquilla Maritime and River Terminal, located on Colombia's Atlantic coast, is the northernmost port on the South American continent. Established in 1936, it was designed to receive cargo from the country's interior, by land, sea or air, and to handle international maritime cargo for the country and the city of Barranquilla.

Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Barranquilla is located 22 kilometers from the mouth of the Magdalena River, Colombia's largest inland waterway. Its maritime pier is 1,058 meters long, has a minimum depth of 34 feet, and can accommodate as many as seven ships at once. There is also a 550 meter river pier equipped to handle barges with a draft of up to 12 feet.

OUR INSTALLATIONS

|
Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Barranquilla (SPRB) is the second largest terminal in Colombia and the largest on the Atlantic coast. It extends over an area of 933,000 square meters, which includes:
500,000 sq. meters - South Dock
150,000 sq. meters - Storage yards
39,000 sq. meters - Warehouse area
244,000 sq. meters - Offices, roads and sites for future development
The terminal has ten multipurpose warehouses ranging in size from 2,600 to 6,000 sq. meters. There is also a special warehouse for solid cargo in bulk, with an installed capacity of 15,000 tons and a yearly turnover of 175,000 tons.
Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Barranquilla is the only terminal in Colombia with internal access to an industrial and commercial free zone. Merchandise may be transferred to or from the terminal or the free zone without leaving Colombian territory. |

INTERMODAL LOCATION
The Colombian highway system leads directly to the Port of Barranquilla. As a result, cargo is received or dispatched via the entry and exit ramps linking it to the interior of the country.
Thanks to its location on the Magdalena River, Barranquilla offers access to inland river ports such as Puerto Berrio and Barrancabermeja. Large volumes of cargo leave Barranquilla every year for the country's major industrial and commercial centers, such as Medellin, Bogota and Bucaramanga.
We also have the only international airport in Colombia that is equipped to serve heavy-lift aircraft carrying large loads or equipment.
These factors make Barranquilla a safe, efficient and economic option for shipping or stockpiling incoming or outgoing merchandise.

In the future, Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Barranquilla plans to:
· Adapt silos to store liquids in bulk: hydrocarbons and vegetable oils.
· Adapt the area adjacent to the South Dock for an additional pier (760 m. long).
· Install surveillance cameras and movement sensors in the warehouses and container yards.
We have requested ISO 9002 certification to optimize customer service on the basis of safety, efficiency and economy.
