LA CANDELARIA FREE ZONE:
THE CANDELARIA EXPORT PROCESSING ZONE IS LOCATED 12 KILOMETERS
SOUTHEAST OF THE CITY OF CARTAGENA, IN THE HEART OF THE MAMONAL
INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT.
IT HAS TWO MAJOR ACCESS ROUTES: THE ROAD FROM CARTAGENA TO
MAMONAL AND THE MAMONAL-GAMBOTE HIGHWAY FROM BARRANQUILLA,
WHICH SKIRTS THE URBAN AREA AND CONNECTS IN GAMBOTE WITH THE
HIGHWAY TO MEDELLIN.

2. There is no time limit or deadline for inward customs clearance.

5. Customs transit operations with other duty-free zones are permitted, with only a seal of authorization from the Colombian Bureau of Internal Revenue (DIAN).
6. Foreign merchandise may be removed from the zone with only an exit permit. No customs bond or re-export procedure is required.
7. Shipments may be verified inside the zone and duty paid on incoming merchandise that has actually arrived and needs to be cleared through customs.
8. Merchandise may be repacked and partially cleared through customs inside the zone.
9. Merchandise may be brought into the zone to complete suspended arrangements.
10. Your company’s assets do not increase inside the zone. In this case, they are simply in transit.

2. Profits earned inside the zone are except from income and complementary tax, which is 35 percent.
